Social media competitor tracking that updates every day

Add the brands you compete with and OutReply takes a snapshot of their public numbers every day on Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube and Reddit. See who is growing fastest, where you rank and how search interest in each name moves on Google.

Competitor tracking is part of Elite ($45/month).

  • Daily public snapshots on five networks
  • Market ranking and share of voice
  • Google Trends comparison
  • AI suggests competitors and checks their handles

What gets tracked on each network

Competitor metrics recorded per platform
PlatformWhat OutReply records every day
FacebookPage followers and likes
InstagramFollowers, number of posts and engagement on recent posts
XFollowers and number of posts
YouTubeSubscribers and channel statistics
RedditSubreddit members, or karma for a user account
TikTok and LinkedInNot tracked: there is no reliable public source

Instagram numbers come from Meta's business discovery through your connected Instagram account, so they cover professional accounts, and Facebook numbers come through your connected Page. X, YouTube and Reddit figures are public and need no extra connection.

How competitor tracking works

  1. Add your competitors

Enter a competitor's name and handles, or let AI suggest competitors from your brand and connected accounts. Suggested handles on the five tracked networks are checked against public data, and ones that don't exist are dropped.

  2. OutReply takes a daily snapshot

Once a day, each handle's public numbers are recorded. Need fresher data? Refresh a competitor on demand, up to once an hour.

  3. See the ranking

Each competitor gets a market score from their combined followers and a rank against your own, with growth over time.

  4. Hear about overtakes

When a tracked competitor passes you, or you pass them, OutReply sends an in-app notification.

Google Trends, side by side

Followers show reach; search interest shows demand. OutReply compares Google search interest in your brand name and up to four competitors over any window from 7 to 365 days, and lists the rising searches related to your brand. Google Trends is an unofficial source, so on rare days the data isn't available and the chart waits for the next refresh.

On Elite, the market picture also feeds the weekly AI briefing in social media analytics, next to your own performance and audience intelligence. For conversations about competitors rather than their numbers, set up competitor profiles in Reddit monitoring.
