Before you claim a name
Does this check whether a username is available?
No. It checks the format rules described here and builds profile links. It does not query the networks, reserve a name or confirm ownership. Check the username in the network’s signup or profile settings to learn whether you can claim it.
Why can an empty profile page still mean the name is unavailable?
A network may reserve a name or keep it attached to a suspended, deactivated or unpublished account. A login prompt or missing profile is not an availability result. Only the network can confirm whether it will accept your requested name.
Why does one handle get different results across networks?
Each service has different character, length and eligibility rules. For example, X allows underscores at the beginning or end, while YouTube excludes separators in those positions. Basic format fit does not override reserved-name rules or prove availability.
Can I check a handle written in another language?
You can enter letters and numbers from different scripts. YouTube supports many languages with script-specific length and mixing rules, so this tool directs those cases to YouTube instead of rejecting them under one Latin-only limit. Other networks may also require manual confirmation.
What do the LinkedIn and Threads links open?
LinkedIn links point to personal profiles under /in/, not Company Pages. Threads links point to Threads.com. All profile links are only opened when you choose one; this tool never opens eight tabs automatically.
